State Requirements

This complete package includes 30 hours of continuing education courses required for license renewals on or after January 1, 2026:

  • Florida Appraisal Laws and Regulations (3-hour self-paced course)
  • 7-Hour USPAP Update Course (Live Online delivery - Click here to view the class schedule.)
  • Appraising Energy-Efficient and Green Homes (3-hour self-paced course)
  • Appraisal Statistics (3-hour self-paced course)
  • The Appraiser's Tech Toolkit (7-hour self-paced course)
  • Appraisal Ethics and Valuation Bias (3-hour self-paced course)
  • Reviewing Appraisal Valuation Procedures (4-hour self-paced course)

The USPAP Update Course is delivered via Live Online (webinar) format. Students are required to have a working camera and microphone, and expected to be on camera from the shoulders up for the entirety of the course.

Students attending the USPAP Update course are also required to have a copy of the current USPAP®, USPAP® Guidance and Reference Manual, and Course Manual. After enrolling in the course, students will receive an email with the code needed to access digital versions of these materials.

2026-2027 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course

The 7-Hour National USPAP Continuing Education Course focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers that are set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). All required manuals from The Appraisal Foundation are included in your course.

This course is offered via live online (synchronous meeting) delivery. Once enrolled, you can select upcoming classes to attend. Classes are offered weekly in two 3.5-hour sessions (Part A and Part B). They must be taken in order, but you can select the schedule options that work best for you. Note to students in NH: State rules require that your final course exam be proctored. You'll need to schedule an appointment with an online proctor in advance. You can find full details of the proctoring process here.

Florida Appraisal Laws and Regulations

This course provides three hours of instruction in Florida appraisal laws and regulations, which satisfies a portion of the continued education needed for licensure in the state. Topics include The Appraisal Foundation, FIRREA, and federal components to set up the state specific subjects. Then the course dives into the Appraisal Subcommittee, the establishment of the Appraisal Foundation, and the role of the Appraiser Qualifications Board and Appraisal Standards Board in unison with Florida requirements for licensure and ethical appraisal practice. To wrap up this course, you will learn about the duties of the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board, Florida appraiser classifications, laws, and rules of professional conduct.

 

This course does not meet the 2026 Real Property Qualification Criteria (Criteria) required education on valuation bias and fair housing laws and regulations.

Appraising Energy-Efficient and Green Homes

This course provides three hours of continued education in energy-efficiency and green building that increasingly impacts modern appraisals. The course covers best practices for appraising energy efficient homes including terminology, building features, and credits. Topics include introductions to going green and sustainability, green energy labels, ratings, and certifications. Appraisal professionals will also learn how to valuate green and high-performance properties, incorporating energy-efficient data into an Appraisal report, and resources for green valuations. The course closes with an in-depth review of The Residential Green and Energy Efficient Addendum.

Appraisal Statistics

Unlock the power of data with our Appraisal Statistics course, designed for real estate professionals seeking to enhance their valuation skills. This comprehensive course covers essential statistical tools and methodologies used in real estate appraisal. Appraisal Ethics and Valuation Bias

This course provides 3 hours of instruction in appraisal valuation processes continued education for appraisal professionals. Topics include how to use the sales comparison approach, the cost approach, and the income approach. This course also dives into considerations for highest and best use, which gives appraisers techniques for deciding which approach should hold the most weight in an appraisal calculation. To wrap this course up, special and emerging appraisal techniques are also covered.

This course does not meet the 2026 Real Property Qualification Criteria (Criteria) required education on valuation bias and fair housing laws and regulations.

Reviewing Appraisal Valuation Procedures

This course provides 4 hours of continued education instruction in reviewing appraisal valuation procedures for appraisal professionals. Topics include problem identification, scoping the work, and appraisal process along with collecting and selecting data for appraisal. This course also dives into analyzing and organizing data. To wrap this course up, reviewing and reconciling final value opinions is also covered.

Renewal Date: Every 2 years, 11/30 of even-numbered years

Hours Required by the State for: 30 Hours

Reporting: The state requires CE course completions to be reported to the state. We will report your course to the state upon completion.

Certificates: Immediately upon appraisal course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
